New: Minalex Adds Laser Etching to its Lineup of Value Added Services

Laser etching metal is exceptionally useful for companies, brands, and part manufacturers that use small aluminum extrusions like the ones we produce for Minalex clients. Although it may not be top of mind to you, if you look around there’s a good chance you’ll find a use for it that will be of great benefit. And when combined with a secondary finishing process like adding an anodized finish, the advantages of an all-in-one Minalex solution are even greater.

By adding parts numbers, dates, and parts specifications to an aluminum extrusion, laser etching can bring increased organization and efficiency to manufacturing, cataloging, and quality control operations. Companies can have their logos and names etched onto an extrusion to provide greater brand awareness. B2B brands that also have a B2C exposure can create richer  brand experiences for consumers by adding laser etched QR and bar codes, even pictures, graphic images, and patterns. Design opportunities are limited only by the imagination.

The size of a laser etching can vary from as small as (insert minimum size) all the way up to (insert largest size) depending on the shaping and size of the extrusion itself and the complexity of the etching itself.

In addition to our new laser etching capabilities, other Minalex value added services include precision cutting, which meets highly accurate measurement specifications down to 0.003 inches (0.076 mm) and a cut-down tolerance measurement down to 0.001 inch (0.0254 mm). Minalex also offers services for deburring aluminum extrusions that remove the sharp edges or unwanted burrs that may occur after pieces are cut and machined. Our wide range of tumbling services include simple cleaning to polishing and brightening and provide a cost-effective and seamless road to a completed product. And if one of the steps required for your extrusion to become a finished piece is Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machining, Minalex provides a full suite of services as well. As for finishing services, we provide a wide range of finishing techniques – anodized, iridite, paint, and many others for virtually every imaginable surfacing and finishing requirement.

If your next aluminum extrusion project can benefit from the many opportunities that laser etching has to offer contact us today and discover the possibilities.

And remember, you can save even more time and money by having Minalex take all of your secondary finishing at the same time.
